Preethi Krishnamurthy and Catherine van Kampen to Speak at NYCBA Annual International Law Conference on the Status of Women

BLB&G Partner Preethi Krishnamurthy and Managing Director of Staff Attorneys and Senior Counsel Catherine van Kampen will participate in the Annual International Law Conference on the Status of Women hosted by the New York City Bar Association (“NYCBA”) on March 10 in New York. The Conference will address the increasing threats of violence and intimidation facing judges and their families while celebrating the courage, integrity, and steadfast dedication of women judges who uphold justice—regardless of who appointed them or the reception of their rulings.

Preethi practices securities fraud litigation out of the firm’s New York office, bringing deep experience from her tenure at the SEC. As Co-Regional Trial Counsel for the SEC’s New York Regional Office, she led a team of 16 trial attorneys in high-profile cases involving accounting fraud, insider trading, and broker-dealer misconduct. Preethi also played key roles in landmark trials involving RenaissanceRe’s former CEO and Archegos Capital Management. Her work earned her the SEC’s prestigious Phillip A. Loomis, Jr. Award for outstanding legal scholarship and draftsmanship.

Catherine manages BLB&G’s staff attorneys and has extensive experience in complex litigation and settlement administration. She has earned numerous honors for her international pro bono work advocating for immigrant and refugee women and children, including recognition as a Global Goals Ambassador by the United Nations Association of the USA. Catherine is also an active leader in legal organizations, serving on advisory boards and committees focused on advancing leadership, human rights, and gender equity.
