BLB&G partner Max Berger was a featured speaker at the 2009 PLUS International Conference, held November 11-13, 2009 at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Chicago, IL. PLUS (The Professional Liability Underwriting Society), a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of the professional liability industry, hosted the Conference as an educational forum that seeked to responsibly address issues related to the industry.
On Friday, November 13, 2009, Mr. Berger participated in a panel entitled "Executive Compensation, Corporate Governance, Global Warming - The Heat is On." The panel examined controversial issues affecting corporate culture, the liability insurance industry and institutional investors in the wake of Sarbanes-Oxley and the global credit crisis, anticipating a 'new frontier' of civil litigation and regulatory enforcement.
