The New York Law Journal Recognizes Founding Partner Max Berger With Its Lifetime Achievement Award

September 21, 2022

The New York Law Journal has recognized BLB&G founding partner Max Berger with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his “…impact on the legal community and the practice of law over an entire career.” Max is among ten attorneys recognized in 2022 for their outstanding legal career and contributions to the practice of law. Max’s incredible work as a senior founding member of the firm and success litigating many of the firm's most high-profile and significant cases, including negotiating seven of the largest securities fraud settlements in history (each in excess of a billion dollars), helped to secure his place amongst this year’s honorees. In addition to his legal work, Max is lauded for his longstanding contributions to the academic and charitable spaces. According to the New York Law Journal, “the Lifetime Achievement Award isn’t for the lawyer who notches an occasional outstanding year but for the professional who does it year in and year out.”

As a founding partner, Max has grown BLB&G from a partnership of four lawyers in 1983 into what has been described as “one of the most powerful securities class action law firms in the United States.” His work prosecuting seminal cases which have increased market transparency, held wrongdoers accountable, and improved corporate business practices in groundbreaking ways has secured his role as one of the leading attorneys of the U.S. plaintiff securities bar.

The winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be recognized at the New York Law Journal’s upcoming Professional Excellence web presentation and on October 6th at the New York Legal Awards in New York City.
