Since 2003, Securities Class Action Services ("SCAS"), a subsidiary of RiskMetrics Group, has been tracking class action securities settlements and the law firms prosecuting those cases in the United States. Each year, SCAS has produced a study ranking the top 50 law firms in the field entitled the "SCAS 50". Since the inception of the "SCAS 50", BLB&G has been at the top of these rankings every year, with either the highest total recoveries, the highest average settlement, or both. Out of over $38 billion recovered for investors during the past five years, BLB&G is responsible for recovering over $10 billion in settlements. In its first ever "SCAS 50" Power Rankings report, SCAS culled the data from the last four years to produce a composite "power ranking" of the top 50 firms in that time period, and BLB&G is ranked number one.
