Catherine Blessing leads all aspects of Human Resources for attorneys and professional staff, including the acquisition and professional development of the firm’s talent. She is responsible for managing the firm’s benefits programs, performance management, compensation planning, employee engagement, onboarding, and the summer associate program, as well as the firm’s Administrative, Facilities and Office Services support functions.
Catherine works closely with her team and firm leadership to ensure that recruiting, retention, professional development and policies and programs are well aligned to support and drive the firm’s overall strategic initiatives. As a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee, Catherine closely collaborates with firm leadership to ensure the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives are integrated across the firm.
Prior to joining BLB&G, Catherine served as Senior Director of Human Resources at the Children’s Tumor Foundation, where she established the first formal human resources department, playing a leading role in developing and implementing consistent organizational policies and practices related to compensation, benefits, employee education, and performance reviews, among other initiatives. She was also a senior consultant for CEO Advisory Services, and has prior work experience in the financial industry.
Catherine obtained her Masters’ Certificate in Human Resources Management from Cornell University, and her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing Management, summa cum laude, from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business of The City University of New York.
