BLB&G Partner Jim Harrod spoke on a panel titled “Ethics, Due Diligence and the Offering Process” as part of Practising Law Institute’s “Securities Offerings 2025: A Public Offering from Start to Finish” program on November 10. Jim discussed the ethical issues arising in the due diligence and offering processes, providing insights and advice on recalling professional liability provisions and remedies under the Securities Act, understanding the role of participants in the offering process, and identifying ethical issues in the underwriting process.
Jim practices securities litigation at BLB&G's New York office, representing institutional investors in securities fraud-related matters. He played key roles in the Allianz Structured Alpha Funds case (over $2 billion in recoveries) and In re Motorola Securities Litigation ($190 million recovery). Jim also leads the firm’s Global Securities and Litigation Monitoring Team. He frequently speaks to public pension fund organizations and trustees about fiduciary duties, emerging securities litigation issues, and financial markets.
