BLB&G Associates Brittney Balser and Tom Sperber were featured speakers at the 2025 PAPERS Spring Forum on May 28. They led a presentation titled “Auditors at the Gate: Whose Interests Are They Protecting,” examining the evolving role of the independent auditor in capital markets. Brittney and Tom highlighted recent trends and case studies, underscoring the significance of the independent audit and its impact on the financial landscape.
Brittney is an associate based in the New York office, prosecuting securities fraud, corporate governance, and shareholder rights litigation and advising public pension funds and institutional investors on potential legal claims. She is a recognized thought leader and frequently speaks at conferences and seminars, with her insights published in notable legal journals including The Review of Securities & Commodities Regulation and the New York Law Journal.
Tom prosecutes securities fraud, corporate governance, and shareholder rights litigation on behalf of institutional investor clients out of the firm’s New York office. His outstanding work in securities litigation earned him the title of “Rising Star” by respected peer-review publication Super Lawyers. Prior to joining the firm, Tom clerked for the Honorable K. Michael Moore, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
