Dr. Carsten Fischer serves as Senior Advisor to BLB&G supporting clients in Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Recognized as a leading expert in investment law, asset management, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance, Dr. Fischer is a licensed European attorney practicing in Liechtenstein. He brings extensive experience advising institutional investors, investment funds, asset managers, and corporate clients on regulatory, compliance, and corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining BLB&G, Dr. Fischer founded XO. Capital Group, where he continues to serve as a partner. He has also held senior executive roles in the financial sector, most recently as General Counsel and Head of Legal & Compliance at Union Investment, overseeing a team of 75 professionals across Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering, Corporate Law, Investment Law, Information Security, and Data Protection. In addition, he served on the Executive Committee and as a member of the Supervisory Board at Union Investment Luxembourg.
Before his corporate leadership roles, Dr. Fischer spent many years as a partner at leading international law firms, including Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP (London and Frankfurt) and Dechert LLP (Munich and Frankfurt), specializing in investment law and asset management. He has been recognized multiple times in prestigious legal directories such as The Legal 500, Chambers, and JUVE.
Dr. Fischer’s deep knowledge of legal and compliance issues faced by asset managers, combined with hands-on experience navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks across Europe, provides unique value to asset managers, management companies, and institutional investors in the region.
