BLB&G Partner Anya Freedman spoke on a panel titled “Corporate Governance and Proxy Voting – Heightened Challenges to ESG, DEI” as part of the NCTR 38th Annual System Directors’ Meeting in Sacramento, Calif., on June 12. Alongside distinguished professionals, Anya explored the latest developments in proxy voting, shareholder litigation, and various forms of fund participation in corporate governance, supported by recent case studies.
Anya advises BLB&G’s institutional investor clients on fiduciary law and governance matters. Bringing insights gained as general counsel to public pension funds, she empowers leaders to build best-in-class policies and make sound strategic decisions in securities and corporate governance litigation. Most recently, Anya discussed the implications of LACERA v. County of Los Angeles for public pension systems in an article published by the NCPERS blog.
