James Janison is an associate practicing out of the firm’s New York office, where he prosecutes corporate governance and fiduciary duty litigation on behalf of the firm's institutional investor clients.
An active contributor to the firm’s thought leadership, James has authored and co-authored articles published by The University of Chicago Business Law Review and the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance. James also co-authored “A Critical Analysis of ‘Fair Price’ in Entire Fairness Law in Delaware,” published in the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law in Spring 2025.
Before joining BLB&G, James clerked for Chancellor Kathaleen St. Jude McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery. James received his J.D. from NYU School of Law, where he was Senior Notes Editor for the NYU Journal of International Law and Politics and authored the article “Justifying the Presumption Against Extraterritoriality: Congress as a Foreign Affairs Actor.” He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University with a B.A. in International Relations, where he studied political economy in the post-Soviet space.
