Alexander Rigby is a BLB&G associate prosecuting corporate governance and shareholder rights litigation on behalf of the firm’s institutional investor clients. He practices out of the firm’s Delaware office.
Before joining BLB&G, Alex was an associate at Reid Collins & Tsai LLP, where he played key roles in significant litigation matters, including Delaware Court of Chancery appraisal proceedings, expedited disputes, and major derivative lawsuits. He also represented creditors, trustees, and investors in commercial and corporate matters in Delaware Bankruptcy Court, as well as in Cayman, New York, and Texas courts. He previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kathaleen St. Jude McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery.
An active contributor to legal education and scholarship, Alex has lectured at the University of Texas School of Law and Vanderbilt Law School. He is also a co-author of “Open Banking: A Case Study in the Benefits of Interoperability,” featured in The Digital Social Contract: A Lawfare Paper Series. Alex was a member of the Missing Layers Collaborative, a Ford Foundation research initiative on digital governance and interoperability. He is an advisor to multiple soccer supporter and shareholder organizations in the United Kingdom.
Alex earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Texas Law Review. While in law school, he interned for the Honorable Lee Yeakel of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and served as research assistant in business law to Professor Henry T.C. Hu.
He holds a B.A. in Economics and Government from the University of Virginia, where he graduated with distinction and as a Jefferson Scholar, Echols Scholar, Lawn Resident, and member of the Raven Society.
