BLB&G Senior Counsel Lauren Cruz will speak on a panel titled “Controlling Shareholder Standards in Japan and U.S,” hosted by the Center for East Asian Legal Studies at UC Law San Francisco on October 20. The panel will explore critical issues surrounding controlling shareholders under U.S. and Japanese law, with a focus on METI guidelines for mergers and acquisitions and recent Delaware law developments.
Based in BLB&G's Los Angeles office, Lauren prosecutes securities fraud, corporate governance, and shareholder rights litigation for institutional investors. Since joining the firm in 2019, she has played a pivotal role in achieving over $1.2 billion in recoveries for investors, including landmark settlements in cases involving Wells Fargo ($1 billion recovery), Mattel ($98 million recovery), and Qualcomm ($75 million recovery). Beyond her litigation work at the firm, Lauren serves as the Board President and has served as a board member since 2019 of Mental Health Advocacy Services, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit providing free legal services to individuals with mental health disabilities. She is also an active member of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
