On October 18, 2022, BLB&G Partner Michael Blatchley spoke at PLI Securities Offerings 2022: A Public Offering from Start to Finish. Michael served on the “Ethics, Due Diligence and the Offering Process” panel, which covered topics such as professional liability provisions and remedies under the Securities Act, the importance of ethics in due diligence in the offering process, the role of participants in the offering process, and how to spot ethical issues in the underwriting process.
The Practising Law Institute (PLI) is a nonprofit learning organization dedicated to keeping attorneys and other legal professionals at the forefront of knowledge and expertise. Alongside a series of panels, the program simulated a public offering from start to finish: from the initial kickoff meeting, to understanding how the law translates into the mechanics of doing an offering, to working with the SEC and applicable stock exchange, to the closing dinner.
