Jeroen van Kwawegen Participates in Class Action Resolutions Europe

BLB&G Partner Jeroen van Kwawegen served as a featured speaker at Class Action Resolutions Europe on June 21-22 in London, UK. The conference focused on regulatory updates, legal mechanisms and end-to-end management of class action cases.

On June 21, Mr. van Kwawegen joined the panel “Understanding the Legal Environment in the US: A View from a Mature Market to Help Improve Risk Management,” where he covered such topics as “Understanding the legal issues arising from Opt In & Opt Out” and “Is the US moving towards the European opt in model?” Mr. van Kwawegen also served on the esteemed panel discussing Volkswagen securities claim in the Netherlands on June 22.

A senior member of the firm’s Corporate Governance Litigation team, his practice also focuses on the fiduciary duties of boards of directors and senior executives, shareholder activism, and regulatory compliance. In addition, Mr. van Kwawegen has prosecuted a variety of securities class actions on behalf of large institutional investors, including numerous matters relating to the credit crisis and disputes regarding the sale of residential mortgage-backed securities. For his professional achievements, The National Law Journal has named Mr. van Kwawegen a “Plaintiffs’ Lawyers Trailblazer,” recognizing him among the top 26 practitioners in the nation “who continue to make their mark in various aspects of legal work on the Plaintiffs’ side.” He has also been recognized as a New York Super Lawyer and a New York "Rising Star" by Thomson Reuters, and a leading practitioner in his field by Legal 500 US.
