Jeroen van Kwawegen Participates in Skytop Strategies' Shareholder Activism 2 Conference

BLB&G partner Jeroen van Kwawegen moderated the panel “Risks of Non-Successful Activist Engagement – Lessons from Williams” on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Skytop Strategies' Shareholder Activism 2: Unlocking Shareholder Value conference in New York City. Mr. van Kwawegen was joined by a panel of elite legal professionals and academics.

Participants engaged with industry thought leaders on why and how ongoing shareholder engagement and activism play a vital role in affecting share value. They also discovered how activist investors cultivate relationships with companies to positively influence sustained value creation.

Mr. van Kwawegen is a partner in the New York office of BLB&G.  A senior member of the firm’s Corporate Governance Litigation team, his practice focuses on the fiduciary duties of boards of directors and senior executives, shareholder appraisal actions, shareholder activism, and regulatory compliance. Mr. van Kwawegen has also prosecuted a variety of securities class actions on behalf of large institutional investors, including numerous matters relating to the credit crisis and disputes regarding the sale of residential mortgage-backed securities.
