BLB&G partner Mark Lebovitch participated as a moderator for the 90-minute live webinar hosted by the American Bar Association Section of Litigation entitled, “Leadership Fights and Multi-Jurisdictional Gamesmanship in Deal Litigation,” which was held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1 p.m.
Mr. Lebovitch led the discussion exploring two procedural aspects of the evolving M&A litigation landscape – class counsel leadership fights and parallel litigation in multiple courts arising from the same claims. The panel discussed ways to improve the leadership process as well as potential solutions to problems related to parallel M&A litigation.
Mr. Lebovitch is primarily responsible for the firm's corporate governance litigation practice, focusing on derivative suits and transactional litigation. He has served as lead counsel in many of the most significant corporate governance actions of the past five years, and is currently serving as a co-lead counsel prosecuting challenges to a management buyout of J. Crew, a private equity buyout of Novell, and derivative suits alleging bad faith conduct by the boards of Johnson & Johnson, BP p.l.c, and Massey Corporation.
