BLB&G Partners Co-Author PLI’s Financial Services Mediation Answer Book

June 1, 2018

BLB&G partners Max Berger, Avi Josefson and Michael Blatchley were among the top litigation experts to contribute content to the Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) 2017 edition of the Financial Services Mediation Answer Book.  Providing insight from their vantage point as career plaintiffs’ attorneys, they collaborated with other senior litigators to create the volume’s opening chapter, “Laying the Groundwork for Mediation.”  The chapter commented on various issues, including when to mediate, whether or not to impose monetary preconditions prior to mediation, what to consider when drafting a term sheet and mediation statements, and what other materials can and should be submitted to a mediator, among several other topics.

The book, presented in a Q&A format, is designed to serve as a comprehensive one-volume guide to the mediation of financial services disputes.  It features answers to an extensive array of questions concerning this subject from over 40 of the industry’s top players. According to PLI, the book provides “both strategic advice and techniques for mediation in general, and up-to-date discussion of discrete substantive issues that arise in financial services disputes in particular.”
