Former partner Sean Coffey participated as a guest speaker on CNBC's The Call in its segment "The Future of the SEC," during which he discussed the implications of a recent push by the Federal Reserve to expand its oversight of investment banks - a role traditionally filled by the SEC. According to Mr. Coffey, the proposal expanding the Fed's oversight of the financial markets threatens to add another layer of bureaucracy for investors, as well as dilute the effectiveness of the SEC's primary mission of protecting investors.
