Jeroen van Kwawegen Discusses International Class Actions at PLUS D&O Symposium

BLB&G partner Jeroen van Kwawegen was the featured speaker in the 2019 Plus D&O Symposium, held at the Marriott Marquis in New York City on February 6-7, 2019. 

On February 6, Mr. van Kwawegen joined the panel, “Emerging Trends & Exposures in Collective Class Actions Overseas,” to discuss recent developments in European collective actions, the differences between US and European class actions, and litigation financing, among several other related topics.

Mr. van Kwawegen is a senior member of the firm’s Corporate Governance Litigation team. While his practice focuses on the fiduciary duties of boards of directors and senior executives, shareholder activism, and regulatory compliance, he has also prosecuted a variety of securities class actions on behalf of large institutional investors, including numerous matters relating to the credit crisis and disputes regarding the sale of residential mortgage-backed securities. For his professional achievements, The National Law Journal has named Mr. van Kwawegen a “Plaintiffs’ Lawyers Trailblazer,” recognizing him among the top practitioners in the nation “who continue to make their mark in various aspects of legal work on the Plaintiffs’ side.” He has also been recognized as a New York Super Lawyer and a New York "Rising Star" by Thomson Reuters, and a leading practitioner in his field by Legal 500 US.
