October 4, 2011

The National Law Journal ("NLJ") has once again named BLB&G to their "Plaintiffs' Hot List" of the leading firms in the country practicing predominantly plaintiff law. The "Hot List" is an annual survey of the top plaintiff firms doing "exemplary, cutting-edge work." BLB&G is one of only three firms in the nation selected for the past eight consecutive years.

In its survey, NLJ praises BLB&G for recovering "a cool $1 billion" in 2010, adding that the firm once again "hit the $1 billion mark this year by fall (2011)." In highlighting three of BLB&G's largest settlements in 2010, the publication cites the firm's $150.5 million recovery in In re Satyam Computer Services Ltd. Securities Litigation, which is considered the largest settlement ever obtained from an Asian company in history.  The survey also discusses the recent $193 million of additional recoveries obtained by BLB&G in In re Refco Inc. Securities Litigation, during which U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff, in his approval of the settlements, congratulated the team on a "very excellent presentation."  The additional settlements bring the total recoveries in Refco to more than $424.3 million on behalf of the class.  In addition, the survey also acknowledges the $200 million in recoveries in the case against In re WellCare Health Plans Inc. Securities Litigation as among BLB&G's notable successes in 2010.
