The 2008 Benchmark: The Definitive Guide to America's Leading Litigation Firms & Attorneys, published by Legal Media Group (publisher of leading financial news magazines Institutional Investor and Euromoney), named BLB&G one of the leading litigation firms in the country. Through an extensive research process consisting of in-depth interviews, Benchmark identified BLB&G as one of the top litigation firms, "capable of handling any complex litigation matter." Particularly noteworthy is the fact that of the 40 firms selected from New York, BLB&G was the only firm exclusively representing plaintiffs that made the list.
According to Benchmark, BLB&G is "the cream of the crop and one of the most successful plaintiffs' firms in the country," recovering over $6.15 billion for the investor class in WorldCom, including the unprecedented personal director payments of over $20 million. Senior partner Max Berger and former partner Sean Coffey, responsible for negotiating some of the largest settlements in history, were the only two plaintiff lawyers in New York named to the list, commanding the "utmost respect" from their peers.
