Colin Powell, Arianna Huffington and Ben Stein Deliver Keynote Addresses at 15th Forum for Institutional Investors
October 22 - 23, 2009
Former Secretary of State and retired Four-Star General Colin Powell, political analyst and The Huffington Post editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington, and economist and columnist Ben Stein delivered keynote addresses at the 2009 Forum for Institutional Investors, which was held on October 22-23, 2009 at the historic New York Palace Hotel in New York City.
This year's Forum, "Protecting Shareholder Value: Institutional Investor Activism in a Changed World," focused on the enormous worldwide impact of the economic crisis, as speakers and faculty examined the evolving landscape of investment philosophy, regulation, litigation and corporate governance.
Along with the educational day sessions, the Forum's evening events at New York City landmarks - which included a Gala Dinner at the United Nations - provided excellent networking opportunities for our guests.
The Forum for Institutional Investors provides a relaxed, interactive setting where executive directors, trustees, and counsel from public pension systems and the private equity and hedge fund community come together with their peers and a renowned international faculty composed of the world's leading academics, journalists, regulators, advisors and experts on corporate governance, investment and shareholder activism. Former speakers have included New York Times financial columnist Gretchen Morgenson, SEC Commissioner and Columbia Law Professor Harvey Goldschmid, and media personalities and political commentators, James Carville & Mary Matalin.
