On March 8, 2024, BLB&G partner Hannah Ross and senior counsel Catherine van Kampen will speak at the New York City Bar Association’s 5th Annual International Law Conference on the Status of Women. Alongside judges, lawyers, human rights experts, and policy advocates, Hannah and Catherine will engage in meaningful dialogue, providing insights and expertise as to how the legal profession can push for a more equitable and less discriminatory environment for women and girls. The conference will explore the current status of women around the world and highlight the important work being done to enforce their legal rights and improve their economic opportunities to support themselves and their families.

Hannah will introduce the keynote speaker, Judge Esther Salas of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Judge Salas successfully advocated for federal legislation to ensure greater protections for federal judges. The conference, which coincides with International Women’s Day, will also celebrate the International Day of Women’s Judges, which recognizes the contributions of women judges worldwide.

In addition to these important discussions, BLB&G partner Rebecca Boon will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of her work as a founding member and the chairperson of Beyond #MeToo: A Working Group on Corporate Governance, Compliance, and Risk.
