BLB&G Partners Named to Lawdragon Magazine's "New Stars, New Worlds"

July 2006

Three BLB&G partners were named to the inaugural listing of Lawdragon’s 500 “New Stars, New Worlds.” Lawdragon, a national legal publication, selected partners Blair Nicholas, Erik Sandstedt and Jerry Silk as three of the 500 “freshest faces in American law.”

Mr. Nicholas has served as lead counsel in some of the most significant securities fraud cases in history. Most recently, he served as lead trial counsel in In re Clarent Corporation Securities Litigation, which resulted in only the second securities fraud class action verdict in favor of investors since the 1995 passage of the PSLRA.

Of Lawdragon’s 500 “new stars,” nine were personally interviewed and profiled, allowing them to share their unique perspective on the law. One of these profiles focused on Mr. Sandstedt and Mr. Silk. Dubbed a “dynamic duo” by Lawdragon, they have each played a significant role in numerous cases at the firm, including two of the largest securities settlements of all time-WorldCom and Cendant.   As detailed in Lawdragon, the cases “also resulted in a change in plaintiff tactics, seeking not just money, but changes in corporate governance.”
