BLB&G Ranks First
Among Top 50 Plaintiffs Law Firms With Highest Average Settlement For
Active Firms
In 2003, BLB&G recovered nearly $1 billion for investors, the second
largest total of any plaintiff firm in the nation.
According to a study of the top 50 plaintiff law firms in 2003 by
Securities Class Action Services (SCAS), a subsidiary of
Institutional
Shareholder Services (ISS), BLB&G recovered over $950 million in
settlements for defrauded investors. Ranking second in total recoveries
in 2003, BLB&G ranked # 1 with the highest average settlement (over $105
million) among firms with at least 5 settlements. According to Bruce Carton,
Executive Director of SCAS:
“The average settlement
amount is an important measure because it is an indicator of which law
firms are consistently bringing and settling high-impact cases.”
The "SCAS 50" lists the top plaintiffs' law firms ranked by the
total dollar amount of final securities class action settlements
occurring in 2003 in which the law firm served as lead or co-lead counsel.
