Achieving the Largest Recoveries
in History
Since its founding in 1983, BLB&G has
successfully litigated some of the most complex and high-profile
cases in history, recovering billions of dollars on behalf of our
institutional investor clients and very high percentages of damages.
Unique among its peers, BLB&G has negotiated the largest
settlements ever agreed to by public companies related to
securities fraud, and many of the largest securities
recoveries in history. Click on the below links to read more
about:
We seek and routinely obtain recoveries
of a substantial percentage of class-wide damages - not "pennies
on the dollar." We are prepared to go to trial, and we prosecute
each case always with the idea that it will go to trial.
Additionally, the activism of our
public pension fund clients has been vital to the prosecution
of these cases, which has reaped major rewards for shareholders.
In its 2003 update on securities litigation ("The Pension Fund Factor"),
PriceWaterhouseCoopers demonstrated the dramatic impact in public
pension fund involvement on recoveries. According to PwC:
To date in 2003, 15 settlements averaging over $120 million
were reached in cases where a public pension fund served as lead
plaintiff. That is sixteen times the $7.5 million average settlement
value of the remaining 85 cases settled in 2003 where a public
pension fund was not a lead plaintiff.
In addition, we and our clients
are committed to instituting, through the litigation process,
significant
corporate governance reforms.
