r. Jonna practices out of the firm's San Diego office, where he represents institutional investors in complex litigation and securities fraud class actions.  Currently, Mr. Jonna is a member of the teams litigating cases on behalf of clients that invested in mortgage-backed securities, including mortgage pass-through class actions against Wells Fargo, Bear Stearns, JP Morgan, and Merrill Lynch.  Mr. Jonna is also a member of the teams prosecuting Cambridge Place Investment Management Inc. v. Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc. et al, In re Toyota Motor Corp. Securities Litigation, Barry R. Lloyd v. CVB Financial Corp. et al., and West Virginia Laborers' Trust Fund v. STEC, Inc. et al.

Mr. Jonna has participated in the prosecution and resolution of a number of the firm's significant recoveries.  For example, Mr. Jonna was a member of the team that litigated In re Wells Fargo Mortgage-Backed Certificates Litigation, which settled for $125 million - the first settlement of a class action asserting Securities Act claims related to the issuance of mortgage-backed securities.  Mr. Jonna was also a member of the team that prosecuted Public Employees' Ret. Sys. of Mississippi, et al. v. Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., et al., which recently settled for $315 million, representing the largest settlement of a class action asserting Securities Act claims related to the issuance of mortgage-backed securities.  Mr. Jonna also participated in the prosecution of In re AXA Rosenberg Investor Litigation, which settled for $65 million. 

Prior to joining BLB&G, Mr. Jonna was an associate at Miller & Milove, where he helped recover millions for investors in Financial Industry Regulatory Authority ("FINRA") securities arbitrations and state court actions.  These cases involved disputes arising from a wide array of deceptive sales practices and fraudulent investments, including boiler room sales, unsuitable trading, life insurance investment schemes, TIC investments, CDOs, and other exotic credit instruments.   While in law school, Mr. Jonna served as Comments Editor of San Diego Law Review and authored "In Search of Market Discipline: The Case for Indirect Hedge Fund Regulation," 45 San Diego Law Review 989 (2008).
